They are: one county, six United Methodist Churches, two transitional houses. Our fantastic Fannin County Support Team is truly an example of a community coming together to help those in need. The team recently went above and beyond to bring a little Easter joy to our Transitional Housing families in the area, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their efforts.
Whenever there is a fifth Sunday of a month, the six Fannin County churches unite for a fellowship dinner and worship service. Because there was a fifth Sunday in March this year, the churches decided to join together to celebrate the Action Ministries families by providing them each with an Easter basket!
The team decorated laundry baskets with ribbons, streamers and colorful paper, and the congregations filled the baskets with food items, linens, games, toys, cleaning products and Easter candies. All told, there were 12 baskets, bins, boxes and piles of housewarming items for each family.
The combination of the heart-warming effort and a few practical, much-needed items made a huge impact on our families transitioning out of homelessness. Thanks so much to all our Fannin County supporters for remembering, encouraging and caring for our families!
Thanks to Geri Worley for her help with this story!
